Among the best African American celebrities who have made it to the limelight are Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Samuel Jackson, Forest Whitaker, and, who would fail to picture the great Will Smith? Up until today, more and more of them begin to dominate the silver screen and carve out their own niche in the industry. Chris Stokes, one of the hottest and dandiest African American Stars today, proves to have successfully caught the limelight with the series of hits he has produced both in music and film.
Chris Stokes has proven how age can never be a hindrance notjust to making it big in the industry but to making it in the locus as well. In fact, his leadership has been manifest in a wide range of his song and film projects in the past. From his teenage years up until the time his career has gone full-term, he has already directed over 150 music videos of some of the world’s international music sensations like Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez. He has directed artists both on his label and from other labels. Omarion, one of the singers who have emerged in the music industry during his time, has successfully pulled off the music video of “Cut-Off Time” because of Stokes’ superb musical direction. Stokes was also the name behind the success of the 2007 hits “Girlfriend” and “Hey Baby,” two of Omarion’s singles in the album Bow Wow, Face Off.
Just like many of the black artists who have gone someplace in the music arena, the works of Chris Stokes as a record producer, manager and film director have all been major leagues. At a very young age of fourteen, his promising brilliance has already been nosed up by the heaviest hitters in the music industry after he had recorded and produced “Mind Blowin’” with his sister Juanita. He was since then known as the “Brain Child,” until he decided to change his screen name to Christopher Stokes years later.
Since Chris Stokes began his career as a teenager, he has grossed millions of dollars for his songs and films. Just recently, he ventured into the clothing industry as he opened a high-end clothing line in the United States. How he stepped up the ladder as a once young, petty recording artist comes to pretty well prove now how valuable African Americans are in the industry.
