While considered to be the most authoritative source of movie reviews, Rotten Tomatoes has been proven by and large to be elitist and disconnected from regular viewer’s tastes. Another source of good reviews are blogs. In blogs, writers often tackle a movie in detail, and will often review not only the movie’s story in general but also the acting and directing in the film.

Finding DVD movie reviews nowadays isn’t that hard. All one needs to know is a movie’s title and add “review/s” in the search phrase. While there are certain websites which users will eventually depend on as their primary source for movie reviews, it’s still a good idea especially when just starting out to try out each site and find out which one fits when it comes to your personal taste in movies.
